Privacy Policy

Last updated:

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information Snug Print collects when you visit snugprint.shop or order a personalized blanket from us, why we need it, who sees it, how long we keep it, and what you can ask us to do with it. Snug Print is an online shop at 716 Liberty Bell Ln, Libertyville, IL 60048, US. Because our blankets are printed with your own photos, names and dates, this policy also explains in detail how we handle the pictures and personal words you send us. If anything here is unclear, email support@snugprint.shop and we will reply within 24 hours on business days.

Your privacy at a glance

  • We collect only what we need to take your order, print your blanket, ship it and help you afterwards.
  • The photos, names and dates you send in the order notes or by email are used only to print your order.
  • Customer photos are deleted 30 days after your blanket is delivered.
  • We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we never use your photos for advertising without your written permission.
  • Payments are handled by the payment provider shown at checkout; we never see or store full card numbers.
  • You can ask to see, correct or delete your information at any time by emailing us.

1. Who we are and how to reach us

Snug Print sells personalized fleece and sherpa throws printed with family, couple and pet photos, names and dates. The business identity for this policy is: Snug Print, 716 Liberty Bell Ln, Libertyville, IL 60048, US. We support customers by email only. For any privacy question, request or concern, write to support@snugprint.shop. Please use the email address linked to your order so we can find your records quickly and confirm it is really you.

This policy applies to snugprint.shop, to orders placed on it, and to emails between you and us. It does not apply to other websites you reach through a link, such as a photo-sharing service where you keep the album you send us. Those services have their own privacy policies, and we recommend reading them.

2. What information we collect

2.1 Information you give us when you order

To place an order you give us your name, email address, billing address and shipping address. Checkout may also ask for a phone number if the delivery service needs one for the parcel. You choose the design, fabric and size of your blanket, and that choice becomes part of your order record.

2.2 Personalisation details you send us

Personalisation is the heart of a Snug Print blanket, so this part matters most. There is no upload tool on our site. Instead, you type the names, dates and words you want printed in the Order notes box at checkout, and you share your photos by pasting a link to a shared album or cloud folder in the same box, or by replying to us with your order number at support@snugprint.shop. These details can include:

  • Photographs of you, your family, your partner, your children, your pets or someone you have lost.
  • First names, surnames, nicknames, birth dates, wedding dates, memorial dates and places.
  • Short personal texts such as vows, a family motto, a verse or a message.

Some of this may be sensitive to you, for example a photo of a baby or a memorial portrait with dates of birth and death. Please only send what you want printed, and only send photos and words you own or have permission to use. If a picture shows other people, we assume you have their agreement, or a parent’s agreement for a child, to have it printed on a blanket.

2.3 Information you give us when you contact us

When you email us, we receive your email address, your message and anything you attach, such as a photo of a delivered parcel or a screenshot of an album link. We keep this conversation with your order so anyone helping you can see what has already been said.

2.4 Information collected automatically

When you browse the site, our hosting and the store software record technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you open, the page that sent you to us and the time of your visit. Cookies and similar tools also remember your cart and keep checkout working. Section 5 explains cookies in more detail.

2.5 Information from service providers

The payment provider that processes your payment tells us whether it succeeded and may share limited details such as the payment type. We never receive your full card number. If your parcel is handed to a delivery service, that service may share delivery status updates with us so we can answer questions about where your blanket is.

3. How we use your information

What we use each kind of information for
InformationWhat we use it forWhy we are allowed to
Name, email, addresses, phone (if given)Taking your order, shipping it, sending order emails, handling returns and refundsNeeded to fulfil our contract with you
Photos, names, dates and texts in order notes or emailsPrinting your blanket exactly as you asked, answering questions about your designNeeded to fulfil the order you placed
Support emails and attachmentsAnswering your question, solving a delivery or print issue, keeping a record of what was agreedFulfilling the contract and our legitimate interest in good service
Technical and cookie dataKeeping the cart and checkout working, keeping the site secure, finding faultsOur legitimate interest in a safe, working store
Order recordsAccounting, fraud prevention and legal record keepingLegal obligations and legitimate interests

We do not use your photos or personal texts to train software, build profiles or create advertising. We do not post customer blankets on any page or channel without asking you first and receiving a clear yes in writing. If we ever start a newsletter, we will only email you marketing messages where you have agreed or where the law allows, and every such email will include an unsubscribe link. At the moment, the emails we send are about your order and your support requests.

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, the legal bases we rely on are: performing our contract with you (orders, printing, delivery and support), our legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention and improving the store), your consent where it is required, and legal obligations such as keeping accounting records.

4. Your photos: how we handle them from order to deletion

We know that a family photo or a memorial portrait is not just a file. Here is exactly what happens to the pictures you send us.

  1. You share them. You paste a shared album or cloud link in the Order notes box, or email the photos with your order number. Please set album links so that anyone with the link can view them; a private album link is the most common reason we have to write back and ask again.
  2. We copy only what we need. We save the photos for your order and use them to prepare the print layout for the design you chose. We do not browse the rest of a shared album beyond the photos you point us to.
  3. We print your blanket. The photos are used only for your order. We do not retouch or restore old photos, and there is no proof step before printing, so the photos are printed as supplied.
  4. We keep them for a short time after delivery. If something goes wrong in transit or you need a return or a reprint, the files are still there and you do not have to send them again.
  5. We delete them 30 days after delivery. Customer photos are deleted 30 days after your blanket is delivered. After that, if you want another blanket with the same photos, you will need to send them again.

Your order record itself, meaning your name, address, what you ordered and the names or dates typed in the order notes, is part of our sales records and is kept as described in section 7. If you would like the personalisation text in your order notes removed sooner, email us and we will tell you what we can remove and what the law requires us to keep.

4.1 An example

Imagine you order a Grandma’s Garden blanket in early December, with six grandchildren’s names in the order notes and a shared album of family photos for a second blanket. We use those names and photos to print the two blankets, ship them to your grandmother’s address in Toronto, and keep the photo files for 30 days after delivery in case anything needs fixing. On day 31 the photo files are deleted. The names remain in your order record so we can help with a question about the order later.

5. Cookies and similar technologies

Snug Print uses essential cookies that the store needs to work: they keep items in your cart, carry you through checkout, keep you signed in to your account if you create one, and protect forms against abuse. Without these, you cannot place an order. Our site also uses a caching layer that stores copies of public pages so they load faster; it does not build a profile of you.

We do not currently run third-party advertising or analytics tools on the site. If we add any optional tool in the future, we will update this policy first and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent before setting non-essential cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time; blocking essential cookies will stop the cart and checkout from working.

6. Who we share information with

We share personal information only with the service providers that help us run the store, and only what each one needs:

  • Printing and fulfilment partners who produce your blanket from your photos and personalisation details and pack it for shipping.
  • Delivery services that need your name, shipping address and, where required, a phone number to deliver the parcel.
  • The payment provider shown at checkout, which processes your payment under its own security rules.
  • Website hosting, security and email providers that keep snugprint.shop online, protect it and carry our emails to you.

These providers may use your information only to provide their service to us. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect the rights and safety of our customers or our business, or as part of a business transfer such as a sale of the shop, in which case this policy would continue to protect your information. We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.

7. How long we keep information

Retention periods by type of information
TypeHow long we keep it
Customer photos sent for printingDeleted 30 days after the blanket is delivered
Order records (name, addresses, items, order notes)As long as accounting and legal record-keeping rules require
Support emailsAs long as they are useful for your order, returns or a follow-up question
Account details (if you create an account)Until you ask us to close the account, apart from order records we must keep
Technical logsFor a limited period needed for security and troubleshooting

When information is no longer needed, we delete it or make it anonymous so it can no longer identify you.

8. How we protect your information

The whole site runs over an encrypted HTTPS connection, including checkout. Access to orders and photos is limited to the people and partners who need them to print, ship and support your order. Card payments are handled by the payment provider, not stored on our site. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information, and if a security incident affects your personal information we will tell you when the law requires it.

9. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • ask what personal information we hold about you and receive a copy;
  • correct information that is wrong, such as a misspelled name in your account;
  • ask us to delete your information, including your photos before the 30-day deletion date;
  • object to or ask us to restrict certain uses;
  • withdraw any consent you gave us;
  • opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (we do neither).

To make a request, email support@snugprint.shop from the address linked to your order or account and tell us what you would like. We may ask a simple question to confirm it is you before we share or delete anything. We answer within the time limits the law sets, and we never treat you differently for using your rights. Residents of US states with privacy laws, Canada, Australia and New Zealand can use the same email address for any request under their local law.

10. Children’s privacy

Our shop is for adults buying blankets, often as gifts for children, but it is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 where local law sets a higher age), and we do not knowingly collect information from them. Photos and names of children reach us only because an adult chose to send them for a blanket, such as a baby birth details throw or a kids name blanket. We use those photos only to print the order and delete them 30 days after delivery. If you think a child has sent us personal information directly, contact us and we will delete it.

11. International visitors and transfers

We sell to customers in the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, and we ship from the USA. Your information may be processed in the United States and in other countries where our service providers operate. Where the law requires it, we rely on appropriate safeguards for those transfers.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the way we work or the law changes, for example if we add a new tool to the site. The “Last updated” date at the top always shows the latest version. If a change is significant, we will put a notice on the site or let affected customers know by email.

13. Contact us about privacy

Email support@snugprint.shop with any privacy question, request or complaint, and put “Privacy” in the subject line so it reaches the right place quickly. You can also read our Terms of Service, see how payment works on our Payment Methods page, find all the ways to reach us on Contact Us, and learn how photos are used for an order in our FAQs.
